Here at Tympa we are always striving to develop our service. We value the feedback we receive from our customers and take this into consideration when thinking about how we can improve.
As you know, we update our software regularly to make changes that will benefit the user experience of our customers. We’d like to update you on what’s new for version 2.9.0 of your Android TympaHealth app.
New “Sync Manager” feature:
We’re delighted to announce the introduction of our new “Sync Manager”. This helpful feature will give you visibility on the progress of examination uploads to the Tympa Panel. It will prompt you to upload your patient images and videos for secure storage and review purposes.
Please note it is important you regularly upload your media to the Tympa Panel to ensure you do not deplete your device storage. If you are always connected to WiFi your media will upload automatically, however if your WiFi signal is weak, or if you’re carrying out a home visit and have no WiFi at all, this handy feature will ensure you remember to upload your files to the secure cloud.
Improvements to your camera settings:
Now, when you take a photo using your Tympa, there will be an obvious camera shutter effect to ensure you know you have successfully captured a photo.
We’d like to remind you of the importance of taking at least one image and one video per ear, per patient during a clinical examination. This is to ensure our ENT and Audiology experts have enough patient evidence to review should you require a second opinion via our remote review feature.
Improvements to patient signature capture:
We have made improvements to the way we capture a patient’s signature as part of the case history and consent form. Now, when a patient signs within the allocated box, they are able to take their finger off the Tympa and place it on the screen again to continue writing. Previously, if they took their finger off the screen they were not able to continue writing their signature.
Headphone selection options for hearing screener:
We are always looking to develop and improve our products here at Tympa. We’re looking at adding the option to enable customers to choose between wireless and wired headphones for hearing screener tests.
You will notice when you next start a hearing screener test there are now more headphone options to choose from. However, please continue to select the headphones you are currently using “Adapt 360 via Bluetooth”.
How to upload your patient data and its impact on performance:
Recently, we have noticed some customers are not regularly uploading their patient images and video to the Tympa Panel. This can be problematic because you may run out of storage on your Tympa device and you also run the risk of losing patient data.
To ensure best practice please make use of the new Sync Manager or simply follow the steps below at the end of each clinic:
- Step 1: go into your patient appointment detail and check if the media has been uploaded – look for the “green tick” icon.
- Step 2: once all uploads have been completed you can return to the home screen. Repeat these steps for all appointments that need to be checked.
- Step 3: check information has been updated in the Tympa Panel. Please be aware there can be a lag depending on the speed of your network.
For further guidance please visit our website. Here you can find screenshots to guide you through this process.
These steps are only required if you were not connected to WiFi at the time of your appointment. It is important however that this is done regularly so that the storage usage of your device remains optimised.
What’s more, regularly uploading patient media will ensure you’re getting the most out of our remote review capabilities. We are here to support you and we regularly identify and flag issues that clinicians may have missed. By safely storing your media using Tympa Panel you are safeguarding medical information and providing the best quality of care for your patients.
