Here at Tympa we are always striving to develop our service. We value the feedback we receive from our customers and take this into consideration when thinking about how we can improve.
As you know, we update our software regularly to make changes that will benefit the user experience of our customers. We’d like to update you on what’s new for version 2.12.0 of the TympaHealth app.
Improvements to your camera:
Now, when you take a photo using your Tympa, a shutter effect will be shown to let you know you have successfully captured an image of your patient’s ear.
We’d like to remind you of the importance of taking at least one image and one video per ear, per patient during a clinical examination. This is to ensure our ENT and Audiology experts have enough patient evidence to review should you require a second opinion via our remote review feature.
Headphone selection options for hearing screener:
We are always looking to develop and improve our products here at Tympa. We’re looking at adding the option to enable customers to choose between wireless and wired headphones for hearing screener tests.
You will notice when you next start a hearing screener test there are now more headphone options to choose from. However, please continue to select the headphones you are currently using “Adapt 360 via Bluetooth”.
Keeping your hardware and software up to date:
Please be aware we are discontinuing support for iOS 13 and below. If your device is not running iOS 14 or above, the latest version will not be installed. Our recommendation to ensure uninterrupted service is to update your Tympa to iOS 14 or above.
Similarly, please ensure your Tympa app is also up to date. We recommend updating to 2.12.0 to ensure you benefit from the latest updates to the most recent version of the app.
Find out what version of iOS you have as follows:
- Go to Settings > About > Software Version. Ensure it is 14 or higher
Find out what version of the Tympa app you are running here.
- Open the Tympa App and sign in
- In the Home screen, tap the Avatar on the top right-hand corner
- Check the App Version
Reminder to upload media to Tympa Panel:
To ensure best practice please follow the steps below at the end of each clinic:
- Step 1: go into your patient appointment detail and check if the media has been uploaded. To do this click on the “upload media” button.
- Step 2: once all uploads have been completed you can return to the home screen. Repeat these steps for all appointments that need to be checked.
- Step 3: check information has been updated in the Tympa Panel. Please be aware there can be a lag depending on the speed of your network.
For further guidance please visit our website. Here you can find screenshots to guide you through this process.
These steps are only required if you were not connected to WiFi at the time of your appointment. It is important however that this is done regularly so that the storage usage of your device remains optimised. We are working on an app update that will alert you when you have multiple files requiring your attention within our next update.
What’s more, regularly uploading patient media will ensure you’re getting the most out of our remote review capabilities. We are here to support you and we regularly identify and flag issues that clinicians may have missed. By safely storing your media using Tympa Panel you are safeguarding medical information and providing the best quality of care for your patients.
Connect and update:
To ensure you get the best user experience and benefit from the latest features and updates ensure you regularly connect to Wifi.
